Strategies[]
Allomancer is a welcome additon in Dervish Vetruvian lists. It achieves many goals simultaneously:
- Fills out Dervish Vetruvian's mana curve
- Provides a solid body to contest the board
- Summons an Obelysk on death, activating several synergies. Because of its somewhat high mana cost, Allomancer is not seen in Aggro Dervish lists - instead, it is incorporated into Midrange lists.
Gauntlet Strategies[]
Allomancer is decent in Gauntlet due to its high value in a slower format. It suffers slightly from decreased Dervish synergy but also benefits from the rarity of dispel in Gauntlet. As such, it is a powerful pick, but it is not always clear if its effect makes up for its low health.
Trivia[]
Upon its release, Allomancer could summon a Bloodfire Totem from its Dying Wish. As one would imagine, this bug made the card unplayable until it was fixed 2 weeks later.
Balance Changes[]
- v. 1.71 - added with the Denizens of Shim'Zar expansion.
- v. 1.95 - updated to summon all obelysks (coincided with the temporary rotation of the Shim'Zar set into the Unlimited game mode and was retained after the set was returned to the ranked mode in May 2018; prior to this change, Allomancer summoned only the 3 Core Set obelysks).
