Ancient Grove is a legendary Vanar vespyr minion.
Abilities
Provoke, Opening Gambit: Your minions gain "Dying Wish: Summon a 1/1 Treant with Provoke".
Interactions
If a friendly minion with a conflicting Dying Wish is already on the field (such as the Fenrir Warmaster's 3/2 Ghost Wolf conflicting with the Ancient Grove's 1/1 Provoke Treant), then the original minion's Dying Wish will take priority before the Ancient Grove's. Once the second minion dies, then the 1/1 Provoke Treant will be summoned as normal.
Strategy
- Can almost guarantee a good Razorback turn if played on board with several other minions.
- Since effect is placed on your walls too it can make your opponent think twice before casting AoE spell.
- Ancient Grove has a fairly strong body for its cost. Moreover, its ability has some syergy with Wall/Zoo-style Vanar lists. However, 7 mana is quite expensive. Most minions that cost 7 mana create massive threats on play. This card does not, and as such does not see regular play. Ancient Grove's high mana cost restricts it from seeing play in decks that would otherwise welcome its Dying Wish.
