While a powerful effect, Artifact Defiler is never played for several reasons. First, it is niche; if the enemy General does not have an [[artifact]] equipped, it cannot be played. This often makes it a "dead card" a card that does nothing but sit in your hand. Second, the card does little to advance a gameplan. Lastly and most importantly, Songhai has several more flexible means of destroying artifacts: [[Four Winds Magi]], [[Bloodrage Mask]], [[Phoenix Fire]], [[Battle Panddo]] among other cards effectively damage artifacts as well inflict as damage to the enemy.

First, it is niche; if the enemy General does not have an artifact equipped, it cannot be played. This often makes it a "dead card" a card that does nothing but sit in your hand. Second, the card does little to advance a gameplan. Lastly and most importantly, Songhai has several more flexible means of destroying artifacts: Four Winds Magi, Bloodrage Mask, Phoenix Fire, Battle Panddo among other cards effectively damage artifacts as well inflict as damage to the enemy.
