Bloodtear Alchemist is one of the most widely used Neutral cards in Duelyst. Its cheap cost and useful effect helps to fill out many decks' otherwise poor early game. Because it costs 1 mana, Bloodtear can be played for "free" by capturing a Mana Spring with it. This allows for players to both build a board and subdue enemy threats at the same time. To add to its useful effect. Bloodtear has a favorable statline. At two attack, it can trade with most 2-drops (ping+attack).
