Description[]
Turn a non-Egg minion into an Egg, or hatch an Egg.
Interactions[]
- Though it is not stated in the text of the card, eggs hatch at the start of the turn of the player who possess them. This means that, if the card is used to transform an enemy minion into an egg, the egg must also be destroyed to ensure that the enemy minion does not respawn during the opponent's turn!
- Egg Morph used on a Spell Sentinel will flip the Sentinel and then transform it.
- If you Egg Morph and kill an enemy minion while the Underlord Xor'Xuul's Destiny is active, the egg will respawn and hatch back into the original minion.
- Egg Morph cannot hatch dispelled Eggs.
Strategy[]
Most of the times, this card is used as a powerful single-target removal for Magmars, since the 0/1 egg created by the spell can be destroyed by any source of damage. Since the card implements a transformation effect, it is particularly useful to remove minions with powerful Dying Wish effects or that are annoying to hit directly, e.g., due to Forcefield. Starting from patch 1.71, the "hatch an egg" effect of the card has become potentially more valuable, since hatched minions are activated immediately: this means that hatched minions behave exactly like if they had Rush. This can be useful to land the killing blow to an opponent with low health!
