Any buffs applied to Ion are effectively "doubled" when attacking a General. For example, if you buff Ion with [[Killing Edge]] to 6/5, then it will deal 12 damage if it attacks the enemy general.

==Gauntlet Strategy==
Due to how battle pets work, all ranged battle pets are incredibly bad cards. There is almost no situation where this card gains value, as it is incredibly easy for you opponent to make Ion suicide into a 3 or 4 drop for free. However, Ion sees some uncompetitive play in Songhai OTK lists, where cards like Killing Edge and [[Saberspine Seal]] are used to quickly buff Ion, upon which it is reactivated with Crimson Coil.
